This is one of the few displays that irritates me. Who is anyone to say that I (or anyone) vote against my own best interests? And to do so with such condescension. I suppose this means that if I am middle class or lower that I should never vote for a Republican because I'd be monetarily better off with democrats running things. The problem I have with this is that money isn't everything.

Justifying your position by saying money isn't everything is just a nice sounding copout. I guess the enviroment isn't everything either, and our standing in the world doesn't much matter either, and our freedom from corporate/government facism isn't everything as well, and the veterans who were mistreated at Walter Reed are not everything, and the 4000 plus dead sons and daughters and fathers and sisters and mothers and the 100,000 MEs killed by your blood soaked fearless leader aren't everything either.

I think this whole argument here misses the point. Of course if you feel tht you'd rather vote in favor of stripping women of their rights because keeping the bitches down is worth more than money to you, then you should absolutely follow your conscious. (ha ha )

However, the reason why people ask questions like, what's the matter with Kansas, is not because low income rural voters are purposefully making a choice to take an economic hit, it's because of the dumb ones who believe they are paying more in taxes under Obama.

The poster boy for this is the biggest known dipshit in the country, Joe the "I'm horny" not a plumber plumber.

All of that would be very nice indeed. But getting there can be accomplished withoutthe hostility and named calling on an internet forum, just as easily as it can with it.

My point is not about who is right and who is wrong. My point is not even about who started the nasty side of all of this.

My point is that it is counter-productive. My point is that is accomplishes nothing, except to produce more hostility. I have never seen anyone won over to the other side of an argument after being called names and belittled.
