The Constitution protects Trumps tax returns

The house has the power to investigate and to subpoena. They do not have to have a crime before they start. They have that power because of checks and balances. Every one of you rightys protecting Trump's taxes are fighting against checks and balances and fighting for an imperial presidency. I sure hope you guys do not get your way. You are fighting to change America in dangerous and fundamental ways. I suppose a despot looks good to you people for some unknown reason. Screw democracy, screw the people, Trump should be above the law.

Donald Trump has Zero obligation to open his tax returns to the public or the Congress regardless of any law written by the Congress unless the Congress or any person can show “probable cause” that Donald Trump has committed a crime and that his tax returns can deliver relevant evidence thereto said crime.

Every honest American should know that the Democrat controlled House of the Congress is simply on another witch hunt to pin any kind of crime or embarrassment on DonaldTrump. That doesn’t meet probable cause of a crime. If The Congress committee insist on getting Trump’s tax returns, I think they’re in for a court fight that will last for months if not years and end up in the Right dominated Supreme Court, and never get to see Trump’s taxes. It is amazing how lefties are so anxious to infringe on a person's 4th amendment rights. No matter how they justify infringing, it is still infringement.

The 4th Amendment is to protect against seizing evidence to use in a criminal prosecution--that does not include a congressional investigation. Even many IRS cases are civil rather than criminal.
 
The house has the power to demand anybody's taxes, including the president. The Ways and Means can tell the IRS whose taxes then require and the IRS shall provide them. This is so simple and clear. There is no legal defense. Trump.being the least transparent president in recent history, will fight in every way he can. I would not be surprised in courts refuse to adress the issue. Trump's taxes have to be turned over.

Where does it say that in the 4th amendment? My copy makes no distinction such as you claim. The amendment is about law enforcement which would include "law makers." There's no exemptions in the amendment for the
Congress or anybody. It prohibits everybody and anybody from jeopardizing, and messing with anybody's houses, papers and effects without due process and "PROBABLE CAUSE!!!!!!"
