A friend of the white man accused of fatally shooting nine black parishioners in Charleston last year is set to plead guilty to two federal charges, according to an agreement signed by federal prosecutors and filed online Monday.

Joey Meek, 21, has agreed to plead guilty to lying to authorities and failure to report a crime, according to the agreement, and a hearing is set for 1 p.m. Friday in Charleston. He could face up to eight years in prison on those charges, although prosecutors note in the agreement they will argue he deserves less time if he's helpful in their ongoing case.

Meek failed to tell he knew about Dylann Roof's plans to shoot nine black parishioners at Emanuel AME Church last June.

All Christians

According to the source of Christian Faith.....The Word of God, "So then...Faith cometh by and hearing by the word of God.". (Rom. 10:17).

It appears that secular's have the mule attempting to "push" the plow instead of allowing the natural design of pulling to achieve the final results. According to the Word of God.....Faith is not Blind, faith is a result of KNOWLEDGE.

You present the false premise that faith is somehow irrational and disconnected from Reason and Logic and the Christian has faith regardless of the evidence against TRUTH...where as the scriptures (the source of Christian faith) teach the opposite, Faith comes about because of REASON and LOGIC as the foundation to Christianity.

Here's how faith works when presented in scripture. EVIDENCE IS PRESENTED TO CONSTRUCT FAITH, faith is not blind. "And truly Jesus did many other signs (miracles, wonders) IN THE PRESENCE of HIS DISCIPLES; which are not written in this book; but these are written that you my believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and believing you might have life in His name." -- John 20:30-31

It is upon this recorded evidence that faith is PRODUCED. (Rom. 10:17)

What is a Christian supposed to do to confirm his/her faith? Search the scriptures to see if the things being instructed are TRUTH just as they did when Paul was teachings the "Thessalonians" -- Acts 17:11. Did they simply take his word or did they spend their nights TESTING that teaching against the scriptures?

And based upon their personal research we are informed, "....and many of them BELIEVED." -- Acts 17:18 Their faith was not blind...it came about by testing the teachings against the Word of God....why? Because the Word of God is TRUTH as delivered from Heaven, we are to be SANCTIFIED in the Word, "Sanctify them by your Word, Your Word is truth." -- John 17:17

Sanctify: Made Holy

The beliefs of man do not establish truth. God establishes truth....in relation to Christian Faith. Christian Faith comes about by accepting the Word of God as TRUTH. Why accept the scriptures as truth...is this acceptance blind? Of course not. The scriptures can be tested for truth by history and archaeology in the majority of its revelations...the only record that can't be tested is that which claims to be SUPER-NATURAL, that which is beyond any physical method to test for truth. If something is SUPERIOR..that which is "inferior" as in nature, can not quantify or measure that which is superior...its a matter of LOGIC and REASON...not blind trust.

It more than amuses me when any secular attempts to explain away the Supernatural by applying natural lineage. That's like attempting to measure the distance from the earth to the sun via using a one foot ruler...its impossible. I can no more explain the supernatural events in the Word of God than you can debunk it via using a yard stick made up of physics which is limited to things that are NATURAL....and incapable of measuring that which is SUPERNATURAL.

Why accept the Supernatural as TRUTH? The majority of Scriptures can be tested by natural calibrations, and everytime the scriptures describe something that has a historical or archaeological record. The scriptures always come out on the correct side of TRUTH.

Layman's example: You say All faith is blind and not based upon reason or logic. How about the faith that you have in going out every morning and starting your car? You have faith that it will turn over and start, as you don't go out dressed in Mechanics garb "expecting" to work on your car before it will go.....why? Because it has started every day that you have tested it from the time you purchased it.....thus, YOUR FAITH in coming out well dressed and expecting a RIDE TO WORK......because YOU KNOW your car will start.. is justified via logic and reason.

The same applies to true Christian Faith....it is to be tested, "....PROVE ALL THINGS; hold fast to that which is good." -- 1 Thess. 5:20-21 How does one PROVE his/her faith.....as far as Christianity goes, via Applying the Word of God, as the Word is the standard that measures Christian Truth. Thus, faith is not blind, its constructed upon the Word of God.

An embattled Florida deputy was suspended for 10 days after violating the agency’s social media policy with a series of controversial Instagram posts.

An internal investigation with Jacksonville County Sheriff’s Office probed Lt. Trudy Callahan, a 20-year-veteran of the police force, and her Instagram account where she posted an image of a black man lounging on a chain-linked fence.

“Yeah its almost Friday so get your Hood Hammock,” Callahan wrote in a caption5. “Ready to chillax.”

In the wake of racist allegations, Callahan deleted her Instagram account and is now appealing her suspension from the agency.

She believed the posts were “taken out of context” and “twisted and turned to fit people’s agendas,” Callahan said.

While none of the images were taken or created by Callahan, she re-shared the pictures with captions that were also interpreted as racially insensitive. In another post, she shared a police sketching of a black man with dreadlocks.

The image included a caption: “The police really expect somebody to find this nigger. I know 6 niggers that looks like this. I could be a sketch artist,” Callahan wrote.

A third post was also scrutinized for showing a black man standing in a line of cars waiting for access to an ATM.

“When you need money to get gas for the car you can’t drive up to the ATM,” she wrote.

Callahan has been the subject of dozens of complaints while serving in the Jacksonville County Sheriff’s Office. This week’s punishment is her fourth suspension from the force, the paper reported.

At the start of the internal investigation, Sheriff Mike Williams described Callahan’s social media activity as “unprofessional.”

She later stepped down from her Fraternal Order of Police post.

Two-year-old Ellie Sanders, it seemed, had fallen asleep on her parents’ bed, soon after what her dad said was a diaper change and a few moments in front of the TV.

But when her family members tried to wake her, police said, she wouldn’t budge. Doctors later found bruises around her eyes, better known as “raccoon eyes,” as well as blood behind her ear and adult bite marks on her back.

She wasn’t breathing.

Police investigators suspect her father, 31-year-old Anthony Michael Sanders, pressed his hands over her nose and mouth until she died, police said, because she may have been disrupting him as he played computer games.

“Just a fit of rage-type deal — anger,” Watauga police Sgt. Jason Babcock told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

“He’s very involved in computer gaming,” Babcock added. “That’s something he did constantly. She may have interrupted him somehow. His day may have been interrupted.”

Sanders was charged with capital murder in connection with his daughter’s suffocation death.

A wild high-speed chase that ran through several towns and Route 128 ended Wednesday morning with one man taken into custody in West Roxbury.

The car pulled away from police in the Dedham area shortly before 11 a.m. It went through and around heavy traffic on 128, got off on Highland Avenue in Needham, then back on the highway and then off again on Route 1 in West Roxbury before finally stopping behind a Party City building on the VFW Parkway. The driver got out and ran off.

As television helicopters broadcast the chase, the car, which appeared to be heavily damaged from the pursuit, went up in flames. The man was captured a short time later.

Tackett suffered minor injuries in the crash, but declined medical treatment. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
