Where Do Confederate Monuments Go After They Come Down?

Your glorification of people who fought to preserve slavery isn't remembering slavery. It's glorifying the people who fought to preserve it.

You're just making a disingenuous argument now because you have no legitimate ones left.

Maybe take something for your memory loss; if a statue is the only way you can remember history, then you probably have a medical condition.

Your changing the argument. You said the statues are there to intimidate black people. You said it didn't remind people of slavery. Now you claim it glorifies those who fought for slavery. Make up your mind what position you take as I am not going to bounce from topic to topic.

You said it didn't remind people of slavery

Of course it doesn't.

They were built as tools of white supremacy and Jim Crow.

They glorify traitors and losers...and apparently without them, you don't know who lost the Civil War.

Take something for your memory loss...it sounds pretty bad.

Now you claim it glorifies those who fought for slavery.

Glorifying defense of slavery isn't the same thing as remembering slavery.

All those racist monuments do is glorify people who fought to preserve slavery.

And apparently, without them, you wouldn't know what slavery was or what the outcome of the Civil War was.

Make up your mind what position you take as I am not going to bounce from topic to topic.

So this is a typical tactic of those on the right; subvert the conversation away from the point, then pretend someone else who engaged your non-sequitur is jumping around.

My point stands uncontested:

Confederate Monuments were erected to intimidate black people
Without those Monuments, people like you won't be able to remember who lost the Civil War, try as hard as you might
Confederate Monuments aren't about slavery, they're about glorifying the people who fought for slavery

You know this, of course, but are obfuscating because you're just a disingenuous hack.

And you're not even very good at that.

I read some were put in museums. They are a part of southern history telling us about who fought to break the country apart and keep blacks in slavery. Read this board and you will see lots of people have not moved on from those positions. They should not be treated with respect or dignity.

You read? Why lie, boy.

So you call states that would have left peacefully and gone their separate ways as tearing the country apart?

Sherman should have been let to burn the crackas into toast

If he had been anything but a gutless coward, he would have tried. Any coward can go around setting fire to something. It takes a real man to fight like a man. Guess we know Sherman was just like the rest of you pussies that support him.

I find it amusing that you lefties are determined to fight the Civil war all over. Slavery though hidious and a bleak period was the norm world wide. It happened and there isn't one thing you can do to change that. Like the confederate flag these statues are nothing but a symbol for the left's faux outrage. When all the statues are gone you idiots will switch to the history books in an effort to rewrite history. Those who ignore the past are bound to repeat it.

Unlike you I accept our history good and bad. Considering the Civil War happened 100+ years before I was born, I don't pass judgment on people who had different moral values from those of today. Therefore to argue the merits of statues most of wich were erected before I was born is pure stupidity.
