That a "hate crime" is so illegal only goes to prove the righteousness of it. Now, imagine we we're both in pre Revolutionary War America. You could make the same case to me for being pro-independence. Or let's say we're both living in pre French Revolution France. You could make the same case to me about being anti-aristocracy.
