If JPP were to conduct a Poll today.

Who would you Vote for:

  • Trump

    Votes: 17 51.5%
  • Biden

    Votes: 11 33.3%
  • Undecided/Third Party

    Votes: 5 15.2%

  • Total voters
    33
  • Poll closed .
2000 Bush/Gore. The US would have taken a different trajectory.
2016 Trump/Hillary. Again, a different trajectory.

2020. Do you think Future Events will be identical if Trump wins or Biden wins?

Agreed.

Here are some elections won by a single vote: https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/59873/10-elections-decided-one-vote-or-less

The power of one vote: https://middletonma.gov/303/The-Power-of-One-Vote

Mostly though, it's a collective will. The main reason most people survive a drive to work or the store is because the opposing traffic drivers collectively agree to stay in their lane. Any one of them can suddenly change their mind and ruin your whole day. Voting is similar: everyone agrees to vote and we all accept the consequences.

Yeah. We all 'everyone agrees to vote and we all accept the consequences' ... unless your name is Trump, then (depending on if you win or lose) you scream 'RIGGED ELECTION!'. :(

They do that in China. Also North Korea. Are you and MSG advocating for an Autocracy?

"Autocracy is a system of government in which supreme political power to direct all the activities of the state is concentrated in the hands of one person, whose decisions are subject to neither external legal restraints nor regularized mechanisms of popular control.Wikipedia"
No just a one party system like California or China.

That's the expected response from both Trump and the Trump fanboys on this forum.

FWIW, the silver lining is that Trump's acceptance speech will be another COVID spreader event for Republicans. If 20% of Americans get moderately sick or worse from COVID, there's a possibility that the Republicans can see a major drop off of in-person voting duel to illness. Since Trump is torpedoing the USPS and against mail-in voting (except for himself and Melania) then Trump could lose several percentage points off votes in toss up states. He could be giving all of his fans COVID and they'll be handing the election to Biden by not being able to vote.

I think future events are unknowable and uncontrollable and anyone arguing otherwise is desperately trying to cope with the utter lack of personal agency they actually have.

No, they fucking didn't. A won or lost election is not fucking change you lead poisoned idiot. You can vote for whatever you want but there is nothing that A) keeps a candidate from.fucking, B) ensuring they do what you want at all, C) can actually change anything either (they can't), or D) gives a flying fuck about you (they don't.) And what are you going to do when you don't get what you want? Well you'll vote again! Why wouldn't you? Just because it didn't work the last 50 times doesn't mean it won't work this time! Go on, buy some scratch offs too, you stupid fucking Boomer.

Disagreed, but there should have never been any doubt that you would change your mind. Fine. So, since you aren't voting, what are you going to do on November 3rd?

That's a very good prediction.

MSG: "I think future events are unknowable and uncontrollable ... "
Jack: I'm guessing you don't play the game of Chess. You can consciously arrange things that favor a particular outcome.

MSG: "anyone arguing otherwise is desperately trying to cope with the utter lack of personal agency they actually have".
Jack: No offense. But it sounds like you are trying to give yourself an excuse to sit on the couch and wait for somebody to come along and hand you something.

Try setting a Goal. Think about what you need to accomplish the Goal. Take one step at a time. (Remove the word 'can't' from your vocabulary)

It's incredibly sad that you think voting matter. I mean, I know you boomers are the dumbest things alive, but god damn...

I'm more amazed that someone of your intellect hasn't yet figured out that voting is the ONLY thing that stands between us and them.
