What is wrong with autodidactism, Perry?

Not a thing. But autodidacts like Cypress mistake their ability to buy books with their ability to understand the topic.

To be quite honest I have posted a LOT of viable, valid points. 99% of which Cypress just gets pissed off about and runs away from (after attacking me).

I'm fine with autodidacts but stupid autodidacts are just stupid people who wasted a lot of effort trying to make others think they are smart.

Cypress CLEARLY didn't have a philosophy class of any value in school. He can't "debate" a point for shit. That's because all he's ever done is read something and say to himself "This will make me sound super smart!" and that's the end of it for him.

And all you ever do is stir shit up because you aren't even THAT dedicated to information. You just like hate.

I didn't even really know what that word means.

Not as sharp as you wanted people to think you are are you?

In my experience, people who didn't go to college just assume education stops after you graduate from university.

You clearly went to college but I doubt you got much out of it. You certainly didn't do much in philosophy or physical science. That's all your own bullshit understanding.

Or HS. LOL FWIW, I've met a few people who did believe education stops after their degree but such people usually never learned much when they were there and never get very far after.

Your jealousy of educated people is very telling, Perry.

QED

Is it because of your mental condition that prevented you from going to college? Was it lack of money? Were you just lazy and now regret it?

The fact that Jank used the word autodidact as an insult means she didn't really know what it meant either.

Self education and self improvement is universally recognized as a virtue.

Self-Taught Person: How to Become an Autodidact Learner
learning isn’t about earning a degree; it’s about a philosophy, a natural curiosity, and a drive that will change the way you look at the world. When you become an autodidact learner, your focus moves from a “why me?” thinking paradigm to a “what can I learn from this?” way of thinking.

Are you a life-long learner? Keep reading to find out how to become an autodidact and why you should embrace life-long learning.

I suspect he does. TBH, I was impressed he spelled it correctly.

Agreed on virtue. Perry has a pattern of denigrating people with higher education by asserting himself to be the highest educated, most knowledgeable person in the conversation. I've seen college graduates who were just as obnoxious to those who have never went further than HS or GED, and am guilty of such behavior myself in my 20s. Mature, confident people have no need for such behavior. Traits which Perry clearly lacks.

Examples:
But self-educating and getting it wrong because you are stupid is NOT a virtue.

LOL Good example of your behavior, Perry. :)

I NEVER said I was the highest educated or most knowledgable. Take for instance your knowledge of 19th century impressionists. I didn't know that. Thanks to your area of expertise I now know something new!

THAT IS EXACTLY LIKE SOMETHING YOU WOULD POST.

You post those dreadful memes ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

So you must really despise yourself.
Yup! LOL

I like my memes.

Nope, but considering your condition, I think there's more than a little projection there, Perry. Are you retarded like Spaz? He was banned for posting just like you. LOL

Are you retarded like Spaz?

I am curious why a trained "psychologist" would call anyone a "retard". Maybe it's because you have literally lied about every single thing about yourself on here. Hmmmm.

Still it is HILARIOUS that you are still fantasizing about my downfall. You have a very weird brain.

What's wrong with retard, Perry? Spaz was retarded and I'm beginning to suspect you are too. Not his fault and, if you are, not yours either. Everyone has faults.

You claim a lot of things, Perry, but your posts indicate most are lies.

Everyone except Trumpers knows it's an insult that is hardly politically correct these days. It belies a certain vileness of personality of those who use it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you are so amped up about "lies". I get it. You're such a virtue bucket. Just full to the brim of virtue.

In grandiose display, he takes the stage,
An intellectual poseur, so assured,
With words that sound profound, yet rest assured,
His wisdom lacks the depth that they engage.

He parades concepts lofty and refined,
But shallow roots betray his grasp so thin,
A mirage of erudition worn within,
As truths he claims are but illusions twined.

His hubris blinds him to his own charade,
A self-made pedestal of empty air,
He treads a path where authenticity's rare,
In ego's grip, his intellect's betrayed.

Oh, let him glimpse the folly he's embraced,
And humbleness replace his hollow taste.

Until someone comes up with a hypothesis about what could possibly lie outside of or beyond the ends of the universe, infinity is the only possible explanation that humans have even the most rudimentary concept of.

One could simply respond with "nothingness", but what is nothingness and how far does it continue?

Infinity?

Well then we're right back where we started.

Correction: by KNOWN galactic standards.

We have no idea how big the biggest galaxies are in the universe beyond our ability to observe.

We may understand it, but we don't know if any of the radio signals we're sending can travel far enough in our lifetimes to reach some other listeners that might be out there, or if any signals possibly sent by some other race of intelligent beings, will come within the range in which our equipment can detect them and do so in our lifetimes or within the lifespan of humanity.

It sounds like you're creating hypotheses to conform to your pre-drawn conclusions.
The geometry of spacetime depends on the density of the universe. At certain densities, spacetime wraps around on itself and gives space a positive curvature. That makes the universe finite. If you headed off in one direction, trillions of years later you would end up back where you started.

I just intuitively feel infinity is not a real, tangible physical reality. It is an abstract mathmatical concept existing only in our conciousness. But that's just my opinion.

I grew up on Star Trek, so I would be thrilled and electrified by alien sentient life. I just think the conservative scientific assumption is that after another century or two of finding no footprints in the EM spectrum, and no tangible evidence of alien visitors to our solar system, we could justifiably assume we are the only advanced intelligence in the galaxy.

Other galaxies are too remote for even the possibility of visiting or studying for signs of life. So its almost a mute point to consider it. And it would be curious that in a galaxy as large as the Milky Way, we would be the only advanced sentient intelligence.

Oh good Christ. The poseur now is an expert on relativity. LOL.
