The US military has three peacetime components and adds a fourth in wartime.

The active military. The Army, Air Force, Navy (including Marines), and as of late, the Space Force. These are limited, with the exception of the Navy, to a two-year budget and are full time services.

The reserve. These are federal forces that supplement the above services.

The National Guard. This is the Organized Reserve. The states control their respective National Guard components in peacetime and these become nationalized in wartime coming under federal control. It is not a full time standing army but rather, parttime, meeting regularly for drill and training.

The last component is the Militia that is formed in wartime as the Army of the United States. This is for all intents, the draft. It is one of the duties of a citizen in exchange for the privileges of citizenship.

They absolutely do. Who did they steal it from? If you had a clue, you would understand that equal branches are a big part of what made America exist this long. A strong judiciary is a counterbalance to the rampant greed and selfishness of congress and potentially the executive. 3 equal branches. You tell me how the power to interpret the constitution and the law is not vital to the country? Who should have that power..trump?

Again, it is the absolute height of stupidity to believe that the framers would create a LIMITED government and then hand over the power to define those limits to that very government. They do not have that power, they've stolen it from we the people. we the people are the final arbiter of the constitution. we the people wrote the constitution, not the supreme court. I would normally wonder if YOU had a clue, but I think you do and that you KNOW you are pushing for that Oligarchy, stupidly believing that if your side can control it, then you can recreate the nation.

Agreed on the intent of the Founders regarding limited government, disagreed on the conspiracy theorist bullshit that anything was stolen from We, the People. The truth is that, We, the people, become apathetic assholes who gave it away.

The violent, conspiracy theorist assholes believe the only way to 'make America great again" is to violently over throw the government, murder all of those with whom they politically disagree and then turn the clock back 200 years. Those people are as mad and dangerous as rabid dogs and will be shot down like rabid dogs after they murder more Americans later this year or the summer of '24.

The power of the vote is the proper way to restore balance.
