Florida snatches parental authority!

Another good question... How nice it would be if parents and kids would just follow the rules... that are put in place for the safety of the children...I'm sure sites have ways to flag accounts that look suspect.... However, it works out it's going to be helpful in the long run... Some parents will be responsible... I'm not sure why any parent would not want to cooperate...

You claim to have once had a kid. If the govt. told you that you must make sure that she's in bed by 9pm on school nights, or else, would you just "cooperate"? If the govt. told you that sweet drinks and foods cause diabetes and tooth decay, and decreed that kids may no longer be served those things, would you "cooperate"? If the govt. decreed that only boys could participate in certain sports, and girls could only do jump-roping and slow pitch softball, would you "cooperate"? It's interesting to see someone who claims to be a conservative, who is anti-vax, now favor laws that remove parental permission and authority and give it to Big Brother. I'm beginning to believe that you are not a conservative. You are a fascist who wants to use govt. to control people "for their own good."

There are bad parents out there who let their kids game and play on their phones for hours upon hours, but it's not the governments job to raise kids or tell parents how to raise kids.

This law doesn't do that. You might want to read the legislation before going into full unhinged mode like Jarod the Tard.

Dumb analogy. That has nothing to do with the law in this case. Are you okay with laws that allow gender mutilation without parent's knowledge? Be silent leftist hypocrites in glass houses.

Ironic in that your leftist ideology suggests that it's okay for men to compete with women as long as they say they are men. Or share their changing rooms, bathrooms and dorms.

Again, leftist loons living in hypocritical glass houses should not cast stones.

This law doesn't remove parental authority. Why all the stupid lies? In fact, it empowers parents.

Those who are 14 or 15 will need a parent’s consent before they join a platform.

you should re-read it actually

14 and 15 year olds can gain access with parental permission. 13 and under can't

True; but then, you're okay with laws that allow gender disfiguration without parental consent. No?

Lastly, if this law is so egregious, the leftist hacks can take it to the courts and see if they can get them overturned, right?

Do you believe children should have unfettered access to the internet and social media? It's a yes, or no answer.

so I can starve my kids as a form of punishment?

or use a belt buckle to really get my point across?

government has no say?

No. There are things that are considered abuse and there is a need to protect kids from legitimate abuse but a parent could take their 8 year old to see Deadpool (Rated R for very, very obvious reasons), if they wanted because parents have, and should have, rights.

Specifically, this bill:

- Prevents a minor who is younger than 14 years of age from becoming a social media account holder.
- Empowers parents to decide whether 14- and 15-year-olds can have a social media account.
- Protects the ability of Floridians to remain anonymous online

I'm ok with citizens in the state I don't live making choices I would not make

this is just liberals (and tards like into the night) crying for no reason - list the social media companies that don't already have a ban on 13 year olds. almost all of them do. and unless the social media company is onlyfans or the sort, no age verification exists

nothing will stop kids from lying on the signup forms.

you have entered the slippery slope now. how/who gets to decide that a spank is ok, a buckle is not?

or that Breakfast Club is ok, but Debbie Does Dallas is not?

Obviously, they do.

Hospitals, clinics, schools, and even churches will report these injuries to Child Protective Services, and they should.

So this is a problem? How so? Should minors have unfettered access to the internet and social media? Yes or no?
